Making Home Affordable is a part of the Obama Administration Financial Stability Plan, and presents the option of refinancing or modifying loans guaranteed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Though many of our clients have been unable to utilize this program, we still recommend that you inquire into the option with your lender. Eligibility requirements can be found on the website.

Solid Ground’s Mortgage Default Counselors offer information on the foreclosure process, and are trained to help you secure community resources, develop a household budget, and negotiate with lenders for repayment strategies. Anyone in Washington State can call the Mortgage Counseling Hotline at 206-694-6766 for information or a referral.

Free state sponsored counseling is available to Washington residents who are facing foreclosure or considering refinancing. To speak with a counselor, call the information hotline at 1-877-894-4663. The website also provides information on free classes, helpful articles about the foreclosure process, and links to other foreclosure assistance programs.
Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle

Certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide housing counseling, the Urban League has recently started a Foreclosure Program Hotline that can be reached at 1-800-368-1455.
Seattle Foreclosure Prevention Program

Administered by the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and Solid Ground, the Seattle Foreclosure Prevention Program gives homeowners the option of working out a repayment plan or gaining enough time to sell their house independently. Eligibility requirements can be found on the website.
HUD Approved Housing Counseling Agencies
